A village of 100 families in the north eastern part of Cambodia near Siem Reap had no access to any school and after the land was cleared of land mines we committed our efforts to the building of a school for them. Now our current project is the Popel school. The first school building was competed and now serves 60 students ranging in age from 4 to 40. The primary goal is to teach them to read and write in their local language Khmer. Some basic math is also being offered. The school now is staffed with two teachers. We supply the school with all the supplies needed, books, note paper, pencils, chalk and backpacks so the students can carry the supplies to their homes in order to do some homework. In 2013 we supplied all the students with badly needed clothing and shoes. The villagers had no access to water so we built a well and found out that the need for water was more than the well could supply at once, so now we are building an additional well to supply the desperately needed water for the village and neighbors who come to fetch water for their needs.
The Adventurer Foundation has ambitious global plans for the future, but currently is focusing its effort and resources to building schools in remote areas of Cambodia. Check out our Current Activities and Projects:
